Kupwara, April 03 (KNO) : Senior Congress leader and former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday said that the anti-Kashmir policies of incumbent government at centre are responsible for pushing the educated youth to join the militant ranks. “It's the failure of BJP that has pushed the educated youth to join militancy. They have adopted anti-Kashmir policies, which was supported by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who already knew that the party they forged an alliance with is against the Kashmiris and Muslims across the country since the independence,” Azad said as per KNO correspondent. Reacting to Omer Abdullah's statement for bringing back, Prime minster and President for JK, Azad said that “BJP is responsible for all such statements from mainstream politicians. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should know what control he has over his own tongue. He never knows what he is narrating; the type of abusive language Modi including his party members use against the Muslims and other religions depicts their level.” All the BJP party members have been using abusive language against the Muslims and Islam, he said, adding that its BJP especially Modi who are responsible for prevailing situation in Kashmir, saying that they have pushed Kashmirs and mainstream political leaders to a corner. “The voice of a common man was suppressed, which is the outcome of Prime Ministers policies so far,” Azad said. According to KNO Correspondent, Azad was addressing a workers convention at Lalpora Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. He said that the party’s recent manifesto issued was very inclusive, saying “our core committee under P Chitambram surveillance, considering all the facts have come up with such manifesto, being part of working committee, our manifesto use to be quite different in order to finalize and cover all the suspects we have issued our 2019 elections agenda manifesto, members have reached out the people across country considering their demands and voice we have issue this manifesto which is pro people.” About their stand regarding AFSPA, he said that before PDP-BJP alliance, the situation across the State was improving and discussions were already on table to take steps to repeal Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). “It was a question of few months, but due to policies of BJP in this state, the situation has detonated to minimum level,” he said. Asked separatists refused to meet Congress leaders, Azad said that, "They are losers". He claimed that Congress took a big initiative to resolve Kashmir issue. “All the three round table conferences were held during Congress tenure. When I was Chief Minister, first Mahatma Gandhi round table Conference started at the times, 27 political parties accepted Hurriyat, be it national or regional mainstream political parties and took part in those round table conferences, by no less than PM of India presided over the conferences, we have made massive efforts to normalize the situations in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added. Azad said that, Jammu and Kashmir police was not less than an enemy as they have time to time suppressed people. “There are some officials who for promotions and making money have killed innocents for their interests. Government is against the militants but police isn't supposed to pick innocents and label them as Pakistani militants. It's because of what people are changing paths and educated scholars are picking up arms,” he said, adding that Prime Minster is himself responsible for the deteriorating situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Azad also lashed out at PDP and said that what made them to form government with BJP, saying the most destructive day in JK so far witnessed was the day when PDP-BJP formed the government in the State. “There is no mind that knows politics better then a Kashmiri, it’s a Kashmiri who has grown up under the shades of guns. It's the complete failure of BJP government that has given rise to the militancy in Kashmir again as they have blinded hundreds of innocents here including minors,” Azad said. He added that during his tenure as chief minister, dozens of militants every week surrendered and joined the mainstream, adding that BJP’s failed policies has pushed doctors and other educated youth to join militancy. “Why was Army camps targeted in large numbers? Had PM listened to "Mann Ki Baat of Kashmirs", the situation would have been quite normal and different than that of prevailing. It’s impossible to win the hearts with guns,” Azad said.(KNO)
